Architectural Design III
Project
2
Project 2
was to design a response to the program developed in Project 1, groups were
paired off
to exchange
programs. The project called for the schematic design of the site, workplace,
exhibit/
conference
space, and the support facility. The buildings were to become an icon and focal
point
for the
Levittown veterans innovation district. This was to be
done with collaboration from the
clients
representative (a person from the other group) for specific information on the
clients
preferences.
A second addition to the project was to relocation the Veterans Memorial park
from
assignment 2 onto the
site.
First I reviewed the
program that was given to me to determine the goals of the client for the site.
During the design
process I also had to keep minutes if I meet with the clients
representative.
The final submission
was to be;
-
5-6 sheets of plans on ARCH-D paper
-
A written interpretation of the
program
-
A cost estimate at least 20% below
the programs estimate
-
A basic model at 1/8 = 1 scale.
For all the sheets I
used the notes area to give my interpretations of the program. The sheets I
submitted were the following;
-
First sheet is a cover sheet with the
cost estimate
-
Second sheet is the site plan with
the zoning, organization, and circulation notes
-
Third sheet is the incubator floor
plan with its interpretation
-
Fourth sheet is the support services
floor plan with its interpretation
-
Fifth sheet is the section views
-
Sixth sheet is the elevation views
and the wall covering info
