Overview and Assignment:

The administration at SUNY Farmingdale State College has come to the conclusion that the campus needs a non-denominational chapel as one of its student life buildings. It is to be a profoundly spiritual place that people of all faiths can worship and reflect on life's events. A unique spiritual atmosphere can be created through the creative use of light and how it enters a space.

The college has requested the following be included in the design:

a Main Chapel, a Memorial Chapel, a Meditation Chapel, an Outdoor space, a Lobby, Offices, a Library and a Conference Room.
