Preliminary Designs:
Design 1
A cantilever bridge that moves on one side. The gears move on a track that makes the road deck go up and down. The support for the road deck swings out of the way using a cable and pulley system.
Design 2
A truss bridge that turns in to an arch. The road deck is also arched due to the length of the span. It uses a series of gears and hinges to pick up the road deck which is a draw bridge. The cable winds up on two pulleys.
