Philosophy
Richard Meier believed that a building was not a living thing;
however nature should be a part of a building. Therefore, he designed the Smith
house with large windows in the rear which allow nature to flow into the residence.
My addition incorporates this philosophy by including the same type of large
windows in the rear.
