Hierarchy

In my version of the Smith house with its new addition; since the entire new addition will be private space for the family to use, the following hierarchy exists.

For the entire new house

1. Existing Living Room- because the family enjoys entertaining

2. New Master Suite- because the couple enjoys their private time

For the new addition

1. Master Suite

2. Outdoor Area

3. Family Room

Systems in New Addition

Open/Enclosed

The new addition will continue Meiers plan of having the front of the house enclosed and the rear of the house open.

Subtractive

Attachment ideas

Direct Attachment- With this type of attachment, the new addition is directly connected to the original building.

Hug-reveal Attachment- With this type of attachment the new addition is slide off the existing corner of the existing building and also wraps another corner of the existing building.
