Final Design
I have chosen Design I for my
final bridge design. It fit into the specifications of the project in that it
froms a relationship between a simple cable bridge and then transforms into an
arch with a moving pendulum. I designed the bridge to resemble the flow of an
ocean wave. The suspension tower resembles the cresting wave that then
transforms into the breaking and rolling wave of the arch.
Transformation
The design started from a
simple two tower cable suspension bridge.
In order to eliminate the
simetrical aspect of the bridge I removed one of the towers and replaced it
with a small arch bridge.
The moving pendulum of the
arch side of the bridge rotates, via cables, to allow for the water traffic to
pass through.
