Light Background Research
These photos will describe the
different technics that architects have used to illuminate Chapels and
sanctuaries.
Sant’Andrea al Quirinale
These photos describes the altitude
of the opening of the windows, to not let the light just shine on to people,
however illuminate from above and provide light everywhere. Also, it was
constructed as a circle dome ceiling to capture the sun from east to west and
provide the most natural light possible.
The Two following pictures above show
a hidden spot light that illuminates the portrait and sculptures. The sun light
reflexes of the golden frame and illuminate anything below it, without too much
strength.
Cornaro Chapel
These photos show the height that was
chosen for the windows to illuminate the chapel, and the rectangular shape that
was chosen.
These photos show the hidden
spotlight that can’t be recognized from the outside, However it’s being used to
reflex light into a circle glass window to create a spotlight on to a
sculpture.
