The
purpose behind my cantilever cable stay bridge was to interrupt a mechanical
rotation. The idea was gathered from a clock. I wanted a vertical 360 turn from
the bridge. However I could not turn the whole bridge upside down, so I choose
the cables to be the support for the majority of the bridge. The transformation
began with placing the circular mechanics that the bridge would be turning with
and then the circular support that would be staying put as the circular
mechanics rotates on the other end. However When rotating the bridge upside
down, there was not enough space for an objects of the dimension 30 feet X 40
feet. So I had to include a track for the bridge to be able to be lifted by
gears.
