Cable-stay Bridge

Truss Bridge

Arch Bridge

Text Box: Seems possible but challenging. Since the cable cannot move for this type of bridge, part of the bridge will not be cable stay Text Box: Good Possibility. Would require some type of truss reshaping to give the structure the support to hold mechanisms in place. Text Box: Might have trouble. Due to the overall shape of the bridge, the structure may not be able to support the moving roadway.

Screw

Operated

Text Box: Similar to the screw operated solution. Movement of the road way is not possible with tension cables. Part of the bridge would not be cable stay Text Box: Can be a challenge. Support of the walkway would be tricky, and making sure the moving part don’t intertwine could cause problems. Text Box: Similar to screw operation, the shape of the bridge, when the walkway closes, may not be able to handle forces pulling it down, with out reshaping the whole super structure

Retractable

Opening

Text Box: Could be feasible. Tower assembly would require extra bracing and structural reinforcement to be able to move the tensile cables, as well as maintain operation speed. Text Box: Very possible. Little work required to make a system to fit this type of bridge. Possibility for a tower of some type, or additional truss work somewhere. Text Box: Could work and seems possible. Could possibly need a second truss/tower to support lift mechanisms.
