CHAPEL NARRATIVE

The location for the new chapel will be located in the open space opposite Knapp hall. This selection is a good place because it creates a large space on campus. The large space is defined by a rectangular court yard that extends from Knapp hall down to the where the new building is located. The space is also defined by Whitman Hall and by the new business center. Additionally, the location of the building helps the circulatory path of the campus flow better.

Based on the orientation of the suns path, the form of the building must be made to capture light from the morning east and set from the west. Both the Main Chapel and Meditation Chapel capture the morning light from the east. The lobby captures light from the north, and the Memorial Chapel and captures light from the setting west.

Narrative

The home owners would like to make an addition to the home to add more space. In the addition the home owners would like a new master bedroom. The husband loves to exercise but has little time to do so because he works long nights. When he has time off it is important for him to have a space to relax with his family and watch television. They both also enjoy spending time outside as a family and cooking on the bbq.
