Idea
Narrative:
Mr. and Mrs. Smith moving into Richard Meier’s smith house. They would like to have a space to entertain friends and family as well as separate space to get away from friends and family. For these needs the Smiths are looking to have an addition with a master suite, family room and exercise room added to Richard Meier’s house. The master suite should be a large open two-story space with a good view of the Long Island Sound as well as a spacious master bath and walk-in closets. For the family room, the Smiths want a nice sized room with space to relax and entertain. The Smiths also like the idea of an attached privet deck or roof top terrace.

Meta Idea:
Since I've been commissioned to do
the addition for the Smith family, I wanted it to look just like that. I want the addition be visible so you could
see the how it actually connects to the existing structure, showing the nuts,
bolts and pins of the connection. Make
a permanent scaffold structure to support connecting walkways between the
buildings. Also included would be a
privacy screen similar to safety and dust screens on construction sites.
