Project Summary

When designing this library in Point Lookout, it was important to be able to take advantage of the view of the bay. By putting a balcony on the west side of the building it will support good viewing for the bay. Also when designing this building finding the source for a mechanical/electrical room to function is very important. The gas line and electricity source is located along the east side of the building, because of its location my mechanical/electrical room is located along the east side of the building as close as possible for the utilities to be reached. Orienting the lighthouse to be a focal point of the town was also driving this project to the orientation i have given it on this site. By having the lighthouse right behind the entrance sign to Point Lookout, it will give the area an iconic structure, this lighthouse will be seen by everyone entering the town of Point Lookout.
