Project Statement

The purpose of the project is to familiarize yourself with form and function. While function is the movement and mechanical part of the bridge, form is the design and structure and is directly affected by the function. Therefore due to the function of moving the bridge up to allow a 30 x 40 foot high box to move through, the form is transformed. For my project I used pulley systems as the mechanism of moving the bridge and received inspiration from the keystone to transform the moveable part of the structure.
