Project
Statement
In this project we needed to transform a normal
bridge so that it could allow passage for boats that are 30 feet wide by 40
feet high. The function in this project is the movement of the bridge. The form
is how the bridge transforms to fit the functions needs. The transformation
could come from any existing bridge such as an arch, truss, or cable-stay
bridge and inspiration from common, moving mechanism found in everyday life
such as a weight machine, wine bottle opener, or a door hinge.
