Connection analogy-
The
first connection method that was used was the extrusions of the original walls bursting
through the new addition. Next there were giant blocks that went through both
projects giving them a strong bond.
Narrative
-
The Smith family is ready for a change. They feel
as though the house is not
big enough for entertainment. They hold large parties every week. They also
want to be able to
have a common room that they can spend time with the family. They don’t necessarily
want the same design;
they want to feel an actual difference and extension of the house while still
feeling at home. They love the
ocean so they want a focus on water and the views. The hierarchy of the house
is going to be the living room.
There will be a datum included separating public and private.
1. Living room.
2. Master bedroom.
3. Observation room.
4. Family room.
Meta
Idea-
Due
to the fact the house was so close to the water. The focus was mainly the ocean. The idea of a wave crashing to a center focal point
really kept the project together. The massive part of this wave will be splitting public and private sections of the
house.
