Project 1

Form and Function

Expression of truth/Beauty

Description:

The purpose of this project is to show the relationship between form and function that leads to the architectural design. In this project the design of a bridge will change according to the functions that are to be placed on it. The bridge will be design following a creative design process: use of prototypes, use analogies, and integration and transformation. To use a prototype, first we do a research of various prototypes, then a conceptual analysis of each is done and finally one of them is selected. Analogies were used to select the movement and function of the bridge from common mechanical and human things that move, then according to that a movement will be choose. In Integration and transformation an expression of form and function will become the new aesthetic.
