Smith House
Philosophy
For this project I tried to keep the same
themes that Richard Meier used. I
side of the house that was facing the water open and public along with the rear
of the house enclosed and private.
To tie everything together I used a circle that also establishes the hierarchy
of the family being the most important.
The shape of the circle comes from the shape of a UFO. The UFO idea comes from how Meier built
the Smith house to be futuristic.
When I think of futuristic I think of space travel and aliens, so I decided
to work that idea into the project.
