Contextual Analysis
Narrative
The
Smith family is in the belief that the house can look and feel more like home
with the addition of a master suite, a residential gym/ exercise room, a family
room and a formal outdoor area. The integrity of the existing structure is to
be maintained; but not essentially more of Meier.
Aesthetically,
the addition is to seamlessly complement the existing structure; and not look
like a separate building.
The
focal point still remains the chimney of the original iconic structure.
The
most important room of the addition is the family room along with the
outdoor area. This is to be integrated on the concepts of public and private
spaces separation. The concept of this addition is a datum addition/connection
and a Meta-Wall as frontal.
