Hierarchy
& Concept
The idea
behind my project was to expose the house to the water view. At the same time I
tried to stay true to the original project. We can easily notice the cascade of
windows on the water view side. This concept inspired my idea of placing and
locating my addition. The original house keeps its shape and beauty, and is not
being distracted or damaged by addition.
I wanted
to create “contrast” and at the same time harmony with the original shape. The biggest difference is in the elevations.
The original building is proudly standing on the hill. The elements added by me
are using the hill and its cascade to underline the surface, heading to the
bay.
